Urge Abians to vote for PPA At All Levels
In
an effort to make Progressive Peoples Alliance PPA to reclaim Abia State in the
forthcoming general election, the party leadership in Ohuhu, Umuahia North
constituency led by its State House of Assembly candidate Hon. Obioma Oburuoga
has commissioned party offices in various wards in Ohuhu. Okaiuga-Alaike ward
office was opened recently to intensify campaign in the area.
Progressive
Peoples Alliance PPA is a grassroot party, and since its establishment in 2006
has recorded mass followership especially among the electorates.
In
the 2007 general election, the party won governorship election and majority of
the National Assembly and State House of Assembly in Abia state.
In
his address the ward Chairman of Okaiuga-Alaike, Mr. Emmanuel Onyema said the
reason for opening Okaiuga-Alaike ward office is to further strengthened
grassroot campaign which PPA stands for.
“PPA
is known as a grassroot party ever since it started. And what you are seeing
here today shows that we have the grassroot. PPA is not a new party in Abia State.
We produced the Governor of Abia State who is there today in 2007; we produced
the Imo Governor Ikedi Ohakim, Senators, House of Representatives and State
house of Assembly members. So, PPA is not a small party, rather a big party,
and that is why we are doing everything to reclaim Abia in this forthcoming
election”, he said.
While
commissioning the Okaiuga-Alaike ward office, the State House of Assembly
candidate for Umuahia North constituency, Hon. Obioma Oburuoga said one of the major
goals of PPA is to provide good governance and offer quality empowerment to
youths and women, stressing that the party will continue to identify with those
who believe in the party’s course, those who believe in their fight and those
who believe that there is need for change after many years of suffering in the
State.
His
statement; “PPA do not believe in empowering people by giving them cars or
buses that will not come with the particulars thereby enslaving the recipient
NO rather we believe in creating wealth for the people, we believe in teaching
people how to catch fish rather than give them fish. We believe in free quality
education, construction of roads but in the urban centers and the rural area. I
assure you that when PPA government gets to power our sufferings will be over.
We do not make promises we are not ready to keep, our youths rather than engage
them in quality gainful employment are
now being used as political tugs, lets stand up for once and say no to bad
governance in our state. Time has come for all of us to prove that we are equal
stakeholders in Abia state. Let me tell you what my godfather once told me “ a
man/woman who do not have a course he can fight and die for is not worthy to be
human” so let’s stand and be counted, let it be on record that when Abia needed
liberation we played a role. Vote for PPA at all level and ensure you protect
the votes”
Those
who spoke at the occasion thanked the Okaiuga-Alaike ward Chairman, Emmanuel
Onyema and the Umuahia North State house of Assembly candidate, Obioma Oburuoga
for such initiative and pledged their support to make sure PPA wins the State
in this forthcoming Election.
