2015 presidency: Why
Chekwas Okorie is the right choice
From Henry Uwalaka
The
emergence of Chief Chekwas Okorie as the United Progressive Party (UPP)
presidential candidate could not only be
seen as an Igbo agenda as many may view it, rather is a time for Nigerians to
pay them back for their immense contributions to the development of the country .
According to some Igbos who believes in the course of Igbo man, Okorie’s mission is to keep the Igbo race on that Historical Golden slate of Nigerian nation which effort have been made to erase.
Nigeria is
said to stand on a tripod namely the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. Igbo race since
Independence has never been given its rightful position despite playing a major
role for Nigerian independence. Hausa and Yoruba have produced not less than
one president and Heads of State each, yet no Igbo man has held such a position
since the country gained independence in 1960.
Late Chief
Chukwuemaka Odimegwu Ojukwu understood the plight of Igbo race earlier and
fought to defend it during and after the war, even when his health condition
deteriorated he still cried for Igbos to be conscious of where they are, and
where they are going.
After the
demise of Odimegwu Ojukwu, only few prominent Igbo sons trade albeit consciousness to sustain Igbo identity and
ensure they maintain their place as one of the major ethnic groups in the Nation.
Many on the other hand have moved to mortgage the future of Igbo race for their
selfish interest.
Today, the
party which is claiming to be the Igbo party, All Progressive Ground Alliance
(APGA) which was founded by Chief
Chekwas Okorie is in a mess, piloted by those who want to relegate the Igbo
identity to the background.
It is only a
true Igbo man that can stand to run for 2015 presidential election when other
prominent Igbo sons and daughters who are expected to champion the course have
abandoned the project and start singing the songs of victory to President
Goodluck Jonathan and retired General Mohammadu Buhari. Zoning has being
removed.
During one
of the visits by Ohaneze Ndigbo youths to late Ikemba Nnewi, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu
Ojukwu, he described Chief Chekwas Okorie as a true Igbo man whom Igbo youths
should follow whenever he joined his ancestors. “If I am found today, and I am
not seen, Chief Chekwas Okorie is to take my position”, he said.
This is a
call, therefore, to support Chekwas Okerie’s 2015 presidential bid, as such if all
Igbo youths and indeed all Igbos should rise up in his support other regions
will follow.
Like as he
rightly said; God used Moses to lead his people out of Egypt, and without
Martin Luther King Jnr, there would probably not be an Obama.
United
Progressive Party (UPP) is the party; Chekwas Okorie is the man for president
comes February, 2015.

Chekwas Okorie contesting the 2015 presidential election is a project every Igbo man should not play with. if Igbos should give him the full support then, other region will find the reason for Igbo presidency.

I like the man courage, but will Igbos give him the support as most of them is following Goodluck Jonatnan. Loveday Onyebunbu,PortHarcourt.
